Our history
Granite Rock Farm, located in Alstead NH, is focused on providing our neighbors and surrounding community with locally grown produce and poultry related products. Incorporated in 2016, we started as a small poultry business focused on providing our community with free range eggs, farm raised chicks and hens as well as offering the service of poultry processing for our clients. As we became known in our community for raising healthy hens that produced rich and flavorful eggs, our farm began selling our eggs and products to local stores and restaurants. In 2019, the decision was made to further grow our farm with the goal of raising Beefalo cattle that would then be processed and sold to local restaurants and grocery stores.
Plans were put into motion for the establishment of cattle on the farm but then the pandemic hit. Restaurants quickly shut down. Orders for eggs diminished and chicken sales ceased. While the wheels were already in motion with the Beefalo cattle being established on property, local restaurants and stores could no longer guarantee their sales. We quickly realized we were going to need to reinvent the way we marketed our products if our farm was going to survive.
